Job Description
Methodist Transplant Institute, in partnership with The University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC), College of Medicine, Department of Surgery, Division of Transplant Surgery is accepting applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor experienced in Transplant Hepatology. This is a full-time, non-tenure-track position and faculty rank is commensurate with experience and credentials.
Responsibilities
The ideal Transplant Hepatologist will be passionate about providing exceptional patient care alongside our three Hepatologists and advanced practice providers. It would be suitable for someone in an academics seeking academic potential with a strong clinically focused program. A balanced work and lifestyle schedule is offered.
As a leader in the field of organ transplantation for more than 40 years, we are pleased to offer Liver, Kidney and Pancreas Transplantation, Living Organ Transplantation, Hepatobiliary, and Pediatric Surgery, Pediatric Transplantation, and Transplant Research.
Academic appointments and educational opportunities are available through the University of Tennessee Health Science center. Call coverage is 1:4 weekends for Hepatology only for a single hospital with a fellow who is also on call. Outpatient service is two half-days per week for Non-Transplant Hepatology and one half-day per week for Pre-Transplant Clinic. All clinics are onsite at primary hospital.
Qualifications
- M.D., or equivalent degree
- American Board of Internal Medicine certification or eligibility, or foreign equivalent
- Transplant Hepatology certification or eligibility
- Qualification for unrestricted medical license issued by the Tennessee Board of Medical Examiners.
