Compensation and Benefits:
- Starting Salary: $46,508.44 - $51,275.40 Annually
- Generous Total Compensation: $91,852.49, including full benefits
- 5% raise on successful completion of 6 month probationary period

Pasadena City College is seeking a dedicated Child Development Specialist to join our team! In this role, you will work primarily with infants, providing high-quality care, development, and educational instruction. You will also collaborate with other staff and contribute to a supportive and stimulating learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend to children's basic needs, including feeding, dressing, and changing diapers
- Develop and implement educational programs with appropriate goals and objectives for young children
- Conduct activities that promote balanced instruction and opportunities for children to learn through play, observation, and questioning
- Evaluate children's developmental needs, performance, social development, and physical health
- Provide mentorship to field practice students in the Child Development Program
- Organize center events and fundraisers
- Ensure compliance with state licensing regulations and nutrition programs
- Conducts parent conferences to discuss the performance of individual children
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Child Development or a related field
- Regular Children's Center Permit/Child Development Teacher Permit, or willingness to apply for the permit
- One year of experience as a lead teacher in a child development program or in a co-operative education program.
- Sixteen (16) semester units of course work in general education, including at least one course in each of the following areas: humanities, social sciences, mathematics, and science, and English.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Child Development or a related field
- Direct teaching experience working with infants
- Three years of experience in a lead teaching role or in a co-operative education program.
- Experience with American Sign Language in early childhood settings
Based on business needs between 7:45 AM and 5:00 PM (8 hours/day)
